Qualifications: MT-BC - Two years of experience in all phases of therapeutic programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. If the creative/expressive arts degree program has a therapeutic equivalency or emphasis, the experience requirements will be waived.

Description of position: The Creative Expressive Arts therapist position provides creative therapy services for Psychiatic patients from young children through Geriatrics ages. Duties include assessment, treatment planning, treatment implementation and evaluation and documentation. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of creative therapy programs daily for patients in the treatment malls. Must have or obtain a North Carolina drivers license. Certification by the certification board of the specialty area. This is a repost. Previous applicants are still being considered and need not re-apply.
Ability to apply & integrate the specific therapy's principles, philosophies & techniques in working with psychiatric patients. Knowledge of psychiatric and medical diagnoses and implications for music therapy, ability to supervise and instruct clinical interns of that specific creative expressive arts therapy. Ability to orient other hospital staff, volunteers, students, or the general public to creative expressive arts therapy programs through the rehabilitation services department. Ability to conduct individual assessments of the specific creative expressive arts therapy on psychiatric patients. Using a variety of assessment tools and techniques and use the results. To plan individualized creative expressive programs. Ability to independently complete all aspects of creative expressive arts therapy documentation. Ability to evaluate patient progress and make evaluative reports to treatment teams. Ability to design, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate creative expressive arts programs on an on-going basis.
