Professional

Professional memberships ($10 a year) are available to any professional music therapist who lives in Kentucky and/or works in Kentucky. Professional memberships are typically for those who hold the designation of Music Therapist—Board Certified (MT—BC), Advanced Certified Music Therapist (ACMT), Registered Music Therapist (RMT), Certified Music Therapist (CMT), or Music Therapist (MT). Only professional members have full voting privileges, hold elected or appointed office, and serve as a member of a nominating committee.

Associate

Associate memberships ($10 a year) are available to anyone in Kentucky who has an interest in supporting music therapy as a treatment option and as a profession. Associate memberships are also available to anyone who lives outside of Kentucky. Associate memberships are often fellow therapists who work with music therapists as well as those who have seen the benefits of music therapy with a friend or loved one.

Affiliate

Affiliate memberships ($25 a year) are available to any organization, foundation, school, institution, or business that has an interest in supporting music therapy as a treatment option and as a profession. Affiliate memberships also are available for undergraduate or graduate students at any Kentucky college or university.

There is a place for you!

Music Therapy Association of Kentucky (MTAK) membership has its benefits. Throughout the year, there are meetings and continuing education opportunities. Members may serve in elected or appointed offices and hold leadership positions to coordinate state, regional, and national trainings and conferences. MTAK members are the first to learn about job openings and research opportunities throughout the state and region.

MTAK offers three types of memberships: Professional, Associate, and Affiliate.
